(Carson City, NV) - Governor Jim
Gibbons has ordered flags at the capitol and
all state buildings to be flown at half
staff on Friday, November 20, 2009 in honor
of Las Vegas Police Officer Trevor
Nettleton. Officer Nettleton was killed at
his home when several assailants confronted
him in his garage. He attempted to defend
himself and was fatally wounded in an
exchange of gunfire.
Officer Nettleton was with Las Vegas Metro
since November 2006, when he retired after
nine years of service in the United States
Marines. He was 30 years old, and was
married with two small children.
“I want to extend my most sincere
condolences to Officer Nettleton’s family,
his friends, and fellow officers”, Governor
Gibbons said, “He will always be remembered
for his dedication and devotion to our
country and to our state.” |
