GOVERNOR NAMES NEW MEMBER TO NEVADA COMMISSION ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Carson City - Governor Jim Gibbons today announced the appointment of Charles Myers to the Nevada Commission on Economic Development. Myers is manager of Sierra Office Solutions in Elko, Nevada. His professional past includes management positions with a job placement and training firm in Elko and as a district manager for a soft drink distributor, as well as twenty-five years of service in the United States Army. Mr. Myers also served eight years on the Elko City Council and is presently serving his second term on the Elko County Commission. He is Elko County’s representative to the Elko County Economic Diversification Authority and the Elko Visitors Authority, and he serves as Chair of the Elko County Regional Transportation Commission.

“Charlie Myers has the perfect balance of public and private experience to contribute to the Nevada Commission on Economic Development, “ Governor Gibbons said, “I am certain he will bring valuable input to the Commission as our state navigates through these troubled economic times and moves toward future prosperity.”
