Governor Jim Gibbons today proclaimed Tuesday, January 2nd,
2007 a statewide Day in Honor and Remembrance of President
Gerald R. Ford.
Although this recognition is a high honor, it does not alter the
schedules of state offices or schools and it does not create a
state holiday.
The actual proclamation may be viewed under
Proclamations on the governor’s web site, and the actual
wording is included below.
”President Ford was a dedicated public servant who served our
nation with honor and distinction,”
said Governor Gibbons. “He led our nation through a
difficult time and helped restore Americans’ faith in
Government. Nevadans honor and remember this man for the
character and values he brought to the presidency and the
healing he brought to our nation.”
