WHEREAS, Paula Hawkins has provided more than twenty five years of service to the State of Nevada, Department of Health and Human Services; her most recent tenure with the Division of Mental Health and Developmental Services; and

WHEREAS, for the past 25 years, Paula Hawkins has dutifully, professionally and ethically performed her duties, most recently as a Quality Assurance Specialist with the Nevada Division of Mental Health and Developmental Services; and

WHEREAS, Paula Hawkins has spent her career encouraging the development of humane, high quality and progressive programs for people with disabilities; and the hard work consistently undertaken by Paula Hawkins has helped improve the quality of life for people with serious and persistent mental illnesses; and

WHEREAS, Paula Hawkins has exemplified the highest standards of sharing and support to coworkers at the MHDS Central Office, as well as all other agencies of the Division; and

WHEREAS, employees of MHDS and other agencies have expressed a great appreciation for Paula Hawkins and her warm and caring demeanor, her knowledge and skills; and

WHEREAS, Paula Hawkins has decided to enter retirement to further devote herself to her family starring three grandbabies and life’s other pleasures;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JIM GIBBONS, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim November 11, 2008, as a day in honor for
