WHEREAS, trees are one of the most important natural resources sustained by man in an urban environment, providing an improved quality of life in our State; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada is dedicated to developing community forestry programs; and

WHEREAS, the Nevada Shade Tree Council raises public awareness of the values and benefits of community trees; and

WHEREAS, the Nevada Shade Tree Council trains individuals and tree care workers in tree selection and tree care; and

WHEREAS, the Nevada Shade Tree Council encourages local tree boards, ordinances, and long range planning in Nevada communities; and

WHEREAS, the Nevada Shade Tree Council provides guidelines and oversight for grant funded programs in the state;
